About Forecasting
by Kamila Moravcikova

I’m really bad in predicting or thinking forward. Everything that includes “long term” notion seems suspiciously to me. And I don’t even usually believe the forecasts! I know I should change this because it makes my life much harder. Just fancy, I don’t believe the weather forecast so I usually spend all day shivering, because it’s cold and freezing and all I have is tiny jacket that cannot save me from the cruel weather. And the fashion! I don’t care what expert say that’s going to be trendy the next season. How could they know for sure? Maybe they are as bad in anticipating as I am! This my idea usually leads to the fact that I buy some really expensive stuff and few weeks later I just realize that I’d better throw it away as it’s desperately out-of-date. All this is result of my lack of foresight, strategy and mistrustfulness. Do you know where you’ll be next year? Where you’d like to be? What’s going to be your next move? Or maybe the question should be put like this. Where you should be next year? Can you see your options and choose the best one? It can be funny that I cannot anticipate at all, that I don’t have strategy, but there are much more important things in life than being out of fashion or choosing unsuitable clothes. What about the future? What about the money? What should I do to ensure some reasonable standard of living in future? How to invest my property not to realize that I am broke at the end of the day? Well, there are people that really know what to do today to be satisfied tomorrow and it’s their job to do so as they are foreseeing, long headed, long term oriented. And if you were not gifted in this way, you’d better believe them and take their advice as I would.
